Hurricane Kits are Ideal.
Get a plastic container with lid at Walmart ,throw everything in and store in easy accessible location in home.
- Flashlights ( numerous ,1 for each room in home
- Batteries ( All sizes for different electronics)
- Dry and canned food for animals
- Perishable food, cans, instant coffee, beef jerky, peanut butter, cereal, instant soup
- Get Car charger for phone to be charged in case no electricity in home
- Clock or NOAA Radio (wind-up or Battery)
- Water: 5 Gallons per person in Household
- Aspirin, First Aid Kit, Medication OTC and Prescription Medication
- Tool kit for shutters ,opening electronics,
Emergency Procedures
- Fill Car with Gas and Have an extra Gas Can if needed
- Put down shutters outside of home in all areas, Make sure they are all bolted and screwed in tightly.
- Fill tub with water to flush down toilets or extra water to bathe yourself with.
- Turn down temperature to Refrigerator & Freezer in case electricity goes out
- Put all Important documents in plastic bag to keep dry and store in inner area of home or keep on you. Some people store theirs in dishwashers
